Dairy Theme 3 - HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF OUR PEOPLE AND ANIMALS

Dairy Farmers Care for their Cows Like You Care for Your Pets
Most people who have a pet, with few exceptions, give that pet the best of care because they enjoy that dog or cat or whatever animal they have.
For those of you who live in town, keep in mind that dairy and other livestock farmers give their animals that same best of care, with very few exceptions.
They do this because they know it is the right and humane way to treat their animals – and they would not be profitable if they mistreated them.
They give their cows many thing to maintain their health
·       Letting the cows relax in free stall barns (meaning they can move or go wherever they want whenever they want).
·       Cows are fed a balanced ration prepared by certified dairy nutritionists
·       The milking machines are on each cow for only 4 to 5 minutes
·       They are given the best possible vetenary care
·       Their pastures are always lush and nutritious
·       They are grain fed only the highest quality feed
·       They regularly check that the stall barns are regularly cleaned and disinfected
·       Insemination is controlled by genetic specialists
·       And most importantly strict government regulations make sure the cows health and the dairy products produced are of the finest quality

What are the health benefits of consuming dairy products daily?
Consumption of dairy products as a part of a nutrient-rich diet has long been recognized as an important contributor to maintaining health and nutrition for people of all ages. Diets rich in milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products provide important vitamins and minerals essential for human growth. When we think about getting plenty of vitamins in our daily diet most of us think about fruit and vegetables. Well, while it’s true that fruit and veg are essential for good nutrition, there are plenty of vitamins in other food sources too. Dairy products contain many nutrients that are important for good health and nutrition.
Dairy products and Vitamin A
Vitamin A, also known as retinol, is essential for your vision, your skin and for a healthy immune system.
Dairy Products and Vitamin B2
Vitamin B2 is good for growing bodies and is essential in helping your body release energy from food. Also known as riboflavin.
Dairy Products and Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 also helps you release energy from food and is important for the production of red bloods cells. Vitamin B12 is only found in animal based products and dairy foods.

Dairy Products and Vitamin D
We need vitamin D in order to absorb calcium. We get most of our vitamin D from exposure to sunlight. Dairy products are a particularly good way to make sure you get plenty of vitamin D.
Dairy Products and Calcium
Calcium is essential for healthy, strong bones and teeth and there’s plenty of calcium to be had in dairy products such as cheese, milk, cream and butter.

Advertising Campaign - Image advertising the best for “Dairy”

Image advertising is used when the primary goal is to create brand, or product awareness among a group of consumers so that they may be persuaded to making a purchase of your offerings, when they are in the market for the type of products or services you sell.

Television- Television is excellent for image advertising. The visual action and audio allow viewers to feel involved. The per person cost to reach viewers through television, which is typically national in its reach, is very expensive but good.

Radio- Radio is significantly less effective than magazines and television when used for image advertising. Radio cannot affect the impact of print advertising or the vision and movement of television, harder to place a long lasting image in the listener’s mind.

Outdoor Advertisement’s- They can be effective for simple image advertising messages, and especially to reinforce messages already being presented in other media.

Magazines- Magazines are not as effective as television as a medium through which to show an image advertising campaign. The quality of magazine printing offers a nice platform for exciting imagery. The use of color photography is especially effective in magazine print advertising.
Newspapers- The graphic reproduction is poor and the consumer has been conditioned to look at newspaper ads for price announcements, not quality image messages.
